The current Dean of Academics of the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP) has more than 12 years of teaching experience in Maritime and non-Maritime Institutions.

     He had served as an instructor in Araullo University, META Center Foundation for Maritime Studies, Engineering Training Officer of Virgin Shipping and Dean of Marine Engineering of Midway Maritime and Technological Foundation in Cabanatuan City.

     His on-board vessel experiences as a 4th Engineer in Westwood Cleo and Berge Broker made him realize that he had to be susceptible to change and adapt to the many changes happening in the shipping industry. As a 3rd Engineer, he became more determined to become a world class Engine Officer. His stint in MT Simona and MT Berg Boss earned him the respect of his subordinates and peers. No wonder in a span of very short years he was already a 2nd Engineer when he worked at MT Coral Trader and MT Coral. His dedication, diligence and readiness to take the challenge paved off when he passed the PRC examination as Chief Engineer.

     As Dean of Academics, he oversees the curriculum design and development, instruction and assessment and the one in-charge of the review for the licensure examination for the Marine Engineering graduates. Since the trend now are having dual officers on board, he conducted a research study to meet the clamor of the Maritime Industry. He presented his research entitled “ THE DUAL COURSE IN MAAP: RECENT DEVELOPMENT IN MET, PHILIPPINES” and presented it in 
     Association of Maritime Education and Training in the Asia and the Pacific (AMETIAP) Conference.

     He is happily married to former Ms. Janneth Cuison, a successful accountant and businesswoman, and a father to two (2) doting children: Iris and Remo.
