RADAR NAVIGATION RADAR PLOTTING AND USE OF ARPA (OPERATIONAL LEVEL)

Trainees will have gained experience in handling ships under various conditions and will make a more effective contribution to the bridge team during ship maneuvering.

This model course aims to meet the mandatory minimum requirements for knowledge, understanding and proficiency in Table A-II/I and A-II/3 of the STCW 1995. This course is essentially practical and consists mainly of series of exercises performed on a ship handling simulator.

During the training, trainees are expected to make use of effective bridge procedures, to comply with the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, observe the basic principles of keeping a navigational watch and assume different roles of bridge Watchkeeping team the roles being rotated to allow each trainee an opportunity to act as master for some of the exercises.

 
THE OPERATIONAL USE OF ELECTRONIC CHART AND DISPLAY INFORMATION SYSTEM

This course is designated for candidates for certification as officers in charge of a navigational watch and for experienced nautical officers and other persons with responsible duties in navigation work, such as pilots. They should preferably be familiar with standard computer Man Machine Interface.
